About Us
The mission of David’s Stars Child Development Center is to nurture and foster children’s learning and development in a safe, fun and positive environment. Our staff provide healthy nutrition, cognitive and social skills building and physical and artistic activities to help children grow to their fullest potential.
Our philosophy is to provide a positive and supportive environment where children can develop socio-environmental, physical, cognitive and linguistic skills and learn at his or her own pace.
We place a strong emphasis on interrelated areas of emotional, social, intellectual and physical development while encouraging children to learn through daily play and learning. We use The Creative Curriculum and are certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
The Center staff use an immersion-based program to teach children Spanish as a second language so they can automatically pickup the new language, grammar and culture throughout their interactions with teachers.
Toddlers and preschoolers follow a daily schedule that includes twice-daily outdoor time and activities such as yoga, visiting the zoo, gardening or taking a walk around the neighborhood. Children also participate in activities and lessons designed to help prepare them academically and socially for school.
We emphasize good nutrition and believe it is essential for good health and optimal development. Meals are prepared fresh onsite. Our menus vary from week to week and always include a variety of fruits, vegetables and lean proteins. We also accommodate food allergies and religious and personal food preferences.
When it comes to parent participation, we are dedicated to sharing your child’s learning program with you and encourage all parents to participate as much as they can. If you’d like to come and read a book with your child, or help with feeding or an art activity, there are plenty of opportunities to come in and be involved with your child’s experience at the Center.
