Curriculum
As part of our mission to nurture and foster children’s learning and development, we are committed to providing a well-rounded curriculum.
Staff create daily, weekly and monthly lesson plans specific to each child based on The Creative Curriculum, which incorporates the latest research and best practices on child development to help foster independent, critical thinking skills.
Accredited by the by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, our program focuses on developing children’s socio-emotional, cognitive, physical and linguistic skills though planned activities and special subject-area stations where kids can practice counting, naming animals and colors and more.
Teachers also speak fluent Spanish in an effort to help your child learn the language, grammar and culture.
Parents
To ensure parents’ involvement in their child’s experience at the Center, we require several parent-teacher meetings throughout the year. We also encourage parent participation in several planned events including a multicultural potluck and their child’s birthday celebration during the year.
Special Education
The Center works with special needs therapists to incorporate any recommended instructions/guidelines in order to provide an appropriate learning environment for each child.
Extracurricular Learning
In addition to formal lesson plans we offer a number of extracurricular programs:
- Our Library Lending Program allows parents to borrow books from the Center to take home and read with their children.
- In the spring, as part of our Garden Program, toddlers and preschoolers learn how to tend a garden and care for their own plants.
- Our Art Program encourages children to explore their creativity.
- We also plan several field trips during the year for children ages two and half and older to cultural diverse locations.
